South Side Residents Upset Over Repeat Outages:

ComEd said the electricity is off because high winds knocked down power lines, but people here at the store say blackouts are a recurring problem.

Katsenos insists in the six weeks his store has been open the power has been out at least 12 times.

“They always come up with some kind of excuse,” he said. “One time it happened we were out of power eight times in one day. On, off. On, off. It's been real frustrating."

The reality is, this is the ghetto. If these power outages would have occurred in wealthy Lakeview or Downtown, heads would have rolled at the electric company. But what can they say? Politics is politics
