our neighbor on the right is an 80 year old polish man. last summer he broke up his entire back sidewalk with a sledgehammer, and mixed and poured the new concrete himself. He has no car, and walks everywhere, even in sub zero weather.

our neighbor on the left is an african american family... we don't see them much but we do see the pit bull quite often. In the summer we can hear lots of shouting.

pretty much everyone else within 4 square blocks is mexican, except the white lady across the street. when I first met her she told me she gave birth to her first daughter on the toilet at home when she was 14.
