you know you live in the inner city when you see people coming up in droves to the ice cream truck parked in the street, but when you go to get a cone, they say "we don't have any ice cream in here"
which reminds me of a funny story.
inner city survival tip:
the other day our neighbors had a party... the music was so loud that you could barely have a conversation in our back yard. mariachi, and some ranchero tinged dance music, and salsa, merengue.
so what do chad and holly do when faced with a situation like this? what any sane individual would do. put the kids to bed, open the windows in the kitchen, and dance!
the funny part was that at around 10pm i went to the front porch to get the mail, and the street noise was so loud in the front (fire trucks, car alarms, ice cream trucks, kids yelling and playing, car stereos blasting) that you couldn't even hear the "deafening" music coming from our neighbor's back yard.
