i've posted photos from our anniversary trip here

the final two photos of the trip are me paying tolls at the toll booth driving home. maybe it is that i'm from michigan where there aren't any toll roads, but i resent paying tolls. with millions of drivers daily, surely they've paid the road off, and paid for any repairs many times over. i imagine at this point they are funding some program with it. what really gets my goat is when i pay two bucks to drive on the chicago skyway and get stuck in a traffic jam. they should at least make it "toll free" if there is a traffic jam or if construction has reduced the road to one lane. so why do i drive on the toll road, you ask? I 94 is often a parking lot filled with people who don't want to pay the 2 bucks. so although i resent paying the 2 bucks (it was actually a total of 6 bucks from chicago to the garage cabin thingy) it is better than sitting in traffic.

nothing is more exciting than navigating a road with 150 people driving 50-75 miles an hour, all trying to move from 5 lanes into 3 lanes while they grope for change in their pockets and glove compartments... sigh
