we had our first trip to the emergency room with abi yesterday.

while sleeping in the stroller, she fell out headfirst and slammed her head into the concrete steps while we were leaving church. she lost some skin on her head and had a few other scrapes. although she was crying like crazy, she didnt seem to lose conciousness, vomit, or any of the other symptoms of major brain trauma, but we called the doctor and she said we should probably take abi in to the emergency room anyway, since she had fallen onto concrete.

so we headed to
saint anthony's hospital (photo above) near our house, and they did xrays, examinations, etc... to make sure she had no skull fractures(the triage nurse commented that abi was the whitest baby she had ever seen in that hospital). then they wanted her to breastfeed and stay there for a few hours to make sure abi would keep food down.

thank you Jesus, no fractures, no bleeding, no damage, but a few scrapes. probably more traumatic for us than for abi. she seems to have forgotten all about it.
