Boenhoffer says "when Christ calls a man, he bids him come and die"

For when you are already dead, what do you have to lose? Nothing. You've already lost everything. This is the life free from attachment to this world, free from fear, free from condemnation, and full of the boldness of a man who has already lost his whole life to Christ and has nothing more to lose. Paul writes "I consider all these things a loss compared to knowing Christ, for whose sake I have lost all things."

Rejection, embarrassment, hurt, suffering, hatred, misunderstanding. These are all just words, empty, meaningless words to a man who has lost his life.

The dead have no fear.
