we got back from idaho last night, after 4 days in mountains and deserts. as it was my first trip out west (i've been to california, but never to "the west") i was amazed at how beautiful it was out there. i can see how people fall in love with it and move, never to return.



we visited the bar j chuckwagon, a somewhat touristy but genuinely western restaurant/eatery, complete with cowboy hats, beans, beef, and live music. driving through idaho yesterday was beautiful, with the sun rising on the hills. we'll have to go back.
